People cannot get over this doll meant to look like Idris Elba
Idris Elba has been transformed into an £850 doll, but fans aren’t impressed by the “upsetting” replica.
The doll, created by British doll manufacturer Emperis, was meant to model the actor, who was recently named the “Sexiest Man Alive” by People magazine.
However, the resulting plastic caricature, dressed in jeans and a suit jacket, has left people horrified and amused.
Rather than resembling the British actor, the doll more closely resembles Jafar from Aladdin, people have suggested.
Others compared the attempt to copy Elba to a Cristiano Ronaldo bust that was mocked for looking nothing like the soccer star.
“Wait, that doll was supposed to be Idris Elba? Somebody needs to fix that,” one person tweeted.
Another said: “This doll is meant to be Idris Elba, I am dying,” while someone else tweeted: “I look more like Idris Elba than this doll.”

However, according to the doll creator, which has previously made dolls resembling Cher and Freddie Mercury, the Elba doll has been a hit since it was released.

On Emperis’ Facebook page, it says there are only a few of the 17-inch dolls remaining, which are made of resin that gives it a “flesh-like feel.”
And on the company’s website, it appears the Elba doll has sold out – or been removed.
Emperis was founded in 2010, according to the website, and is the only creator of “handcrafted ball-joined dolls” in England.
The Independent has contacted Emperis for comment.
