Paulina Porizkova is getting real about the struggles women face while aging.

On Friday, the 56-year-old model shared a powerful message to social media to discuss how many women feel as though they become invisible as they age. Although Porizkova admits that she has the means to "turn back the clock" and use plastic surgery to buy herself a "permanent 39" she chooses not to.

"I believe our aging faces and bodies are not caving ceilings that need to be fixed," the model captioned an unedited photo of herself. "It’s only a different kind of beauty that is not quite accepted or seen. It’s the lushness of summer heading into the colour explosion of the fall.

"It's a different kind of beauty," she continued. "One to be celebrated and embraced for its change. We all have personal preferences for the seasons, but it doesn’t negate the beauty of each. It's up to us, the sisterhood, to applaud one another until the rest catch up."

The star's post and unedited photo was quickly met with praise from fans with similar stories of feeling as though they have to remain looking youthful to feel valued by society.

"I'm 32 and feel the pressure to remain 25. Thank you for being a catalyst for change. I appreciate you!" one Instagram user replied.

"I love the look of an aging woman (perhaps because I am one myself?)," another added. "The lines of wisdom, the look of experience, the face telling an entire story— none of these are things that youth has on us. We are truly blessed."

"When I turned 40, I stopped colouring my hair for these same reasons," a follower wrote. "I was frustrated by society's expectation for women to look young, yet I was contributing to that by continuing to cover up the signs of aging showing on my own body. Letting that fear of judgment go was more empowering than anything I've ever been through. Nobody should be ashamed to show the world their true self. Keep it up, you're doing important work here."

"This is a phenomenal picture of you," someone else commented. "You are radiant and give all of us above 40 confidence to simply be our best selves at any age."

"Yes! We need to see more beautiful women of all ages, so we can recognize beauty everywhere," another echoed.

Earlier this month Porizkova shared another post discussing cosmetic and plastic surgery. The model said that although she has "zero objections" to women who opt for procedures to look and feel their best, she believes remaining "tweak-free" is a sign of acceptance. However, she then admitted that she receives "non-invasive" treatments but "hopes" that one day she'll accept herself as she is "seize her power" to embrace aging naturally.
