Password Season 2 Gets Premiere Date, New Twists — Lauren Graham, Jimmy Kimmel Among Celeb Players

Season 2 of NBC’s Password will bring on some first-time celebrity players, as well as a flurry of new game play elements.

Joel McHale and Meghan Trainor, meanwhile, are set for encore appearances.

Keke Palmer, who made Emmy history this year by becoming the first Black woman to win for Outstanding Host for a Game Show, returns to oversee the proceedings, and executive producer Jimmy Fallon is if course back as a recurring player.

New for Season 2 is an element carried over from December’s holiday episode called “Shoot the Moon!,” where if a contestant is confident that they can get their teammate to guess it with just one clue and succeeds in doing so, they’ll get eight points instead of the usual six. But if they get it wrong after their “Shoot the Moon!” declaration, their opponents get a chance to steal.

Additionally, the second round of games in each episode now includes a special category or theme that relates to all the passwords in that round, and “Password Prize of the Night” randomly selects a moment during the game where a special sound will play to signify that the next password is worth a fabulous prize.

Lastly, when it comes to tiebreakers, host Palmer will have “creative license to deliver clues in her own voice, with the opportunity to ‘perform’ the words until one contestant buzzes in with an answer” (instead of the show just feeding clues).

Watch a promo above, then tell us which Season 2 celeb you’re most looking forward to see play Password.
