Paradise Island Resort Builds World's First 'Aerial Beach'

The private island resort of Bocas Bali in Panama has a new unique attraction the world's first aerial beach. The completion of the over-water Kupu-Kupu Beach means guests can now lounge on sand that sits above the waves before entering the water via its quartz-tiled stairs. The unique design by architect Andres Brenes was created to avoid disturbing the island's natural mangroves and coral. It took nine months to build using little modern machinery. Owner and founder of Bocas Bali, Dan Behm says:, “We have the most picturesque private island retreat at Bocas Bali and the only thing missing was the beach. We wanted to create an experience in a class by itself that pays homage to the incomparable natural setting while providing our guests the luxury of a private beach experience on our exclusive island.”, Owner and founder of Bocas Bali, Dan Behm. Despite offering luxury costing $900-$1100 per night, Bocas Bali has a limited carbon footprint and is 100-percent off the grid thanks to the use of solar energy and an eco-friendly wastewater treatment system.
