And it was very nice too.
And now, to celebrate Burn’s Night, the takeaway company has only gone and created a haggis pizza, hasn’t it?
The pizza, which has been created in honour of Scottish poet Robert Burns (it’s what he would want his legacy to look like, I’m sure…) comes topped with the award-winning Macsween Haggis, crispy potatoes, cheese and Papa John’s signature tomato base.
You missed a trick there, Papa John’s – we thought for sure you’d have switched out the tomato sauce for whisky, but you do you.
If this is right up your street, you’ll have to move quicker than the Loch Ness Monster (does he/she move quick? I’m not sure actually) as Papa John’s haggis pizza is only available on 25 and 26 January.
Not hungry enough for a haggis pizza? Maybe these haggis crisps will fill a hole instead.
Scottish crisp company Mackie's has made a haggis, neeps and tatties flavour, and it sounds pretty damn tasty.
A limited run of 150,000 150g bags are available now. And the Taylor-clan tartan packaging really is the icing on the cake/gravy on the haggis.
So, fire up your bagpipes, and get stuck in!
