The move we’ve been anticipating has finally come to pass. Pamela Anderson, who has been on a natural beauty campaign—by which we mean she’s been sporting the no-makeup look on the streets and at red carpet events alike—for months now, has fittingly added a skincare company to her portfolio.

On Jan. 22, the Baywatch star shared on Instagram that she has officially joined the Sonsie team as a cofounder and owner. In an interview with Vogue, Anderson admitted that the possibility of joining a skincare company has been on the table “ever since the Baywatch days. But it just always felt like too much plastic. Whether it was shampoo or a pet line, or beauty more recently, all I could see was the plastic waste and I couldn’t do it.”

But Sonsie is different. According to Vogue, it was the brand’s commitment to vegan and cruelty-free products, commitment to sustainability and sustainable packaging and “underly[ing] message of caring for your skin at the stage it’s in” that drew Anderson to it. The last tenet, of course, being a huge driver for her own commitment to going natural and makeup-free of late.

“It's about accepting yourself where you are right now,” she told Vogue. “All of us have tried all sorts of different things—your friends are doing it, then you’re doing it. But I just came to a point where I felt like, ‘This is it. I just want to do me, keep my skin hydrated, and look after myself, but I don’t want to have to think about tomorrow. I want to think about right now.”

For Anderson, Sonsie is just that—a means of simultaneously accepting and taking care of yourself.
