Palace insider reacts to Meghan Markle pregnancy rumors

It doesn't seem like baby Archie Harrison will be getting a sibling anytime soon.

Although fans of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been anxiously waiting for another pregnancy announcement from the parents-of-one, Meghan Markle is not pregnant with her second child, Us Weekly was told by a palace source.

While they aren't expecting, it's been said that Meghan and Prince Harry hope to conceive by next year. “Their family is their No. 1 priority,” reported the publication.

Before the couple welcomed Archie in May, the couple had frequently opened up about their desire and excitement on starting a family of their own. In late July, Prince Harry explained that becoming a father had given him an entirely new perspective and that he only wants two children "maximum" for the sake of the planet.

He told conservationist Jane Goodall in an interview:

“I think, weirdly, because of the people that I’ve met and the places that I’ve been fortunate enough to go to, I’ve always had a connection and a love for nature. I view it differently now, without question. But I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children…” he continued.

"Not too many!” Dr. Goodall laughed.

“Two, maximum!” he responded. “But I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed. And, surely, being as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.”

In the meantime, the couple is enjoying life as a family-of-three. Insiders revealed last month that the seven-month-old royal is almost crawling. “He’s a strong baby and you can tell he’s super smart,” said a source to Us.

"When Harry walks into the room, Archie gets so excited, he puts his arms out — his way of saying, ‘Pick me up!’" said the insider, adding that "there's a good chance" his first word will be "Dada."
