Paige Turley has revealed that her ex-boyfriend Lewis Capaldi reached out to congratulate her, after she won Love Island with Finn Tapp. It's always nice when exes stay on good terms, and that's definitely the situation with these two. Lewis has previously joked about Paige sharing her £50k winnings with him, following his announcement that he hoped she'd win Love Island, and he's also revealed that the song 'Hold Me While You Wait' is in fact about Paige.
Since splitting up when Paige, 22, was only 17, the pair have remained in contact and are still clearly championing each other's success.
"I actually texted him to say congratulations on his BRITs," Paige revealed to the BBC, referring to Lewis' two huge wins at this year's BRIT Awards.
"He texted me back to congratulate me on Love Island," Paige continued. "It’s good but I haven't really had a chance to catch up with anybody. It’s been hectic," she added. But Paige went on to assure fans that, "we’re still good friends."
Despite Lewis now being famous all over the world, Paige says that she still sees him as the same person she knew when they were younger. "I think because I knew Lewis before, I don’t know him as the superstar," she explained.
"He’s always just been Lewis to me. It’s normal," she continued. We hope these two stay pals!
This comes after Lewis revealed that, while unfortunately his hit 'Someone You Loved' is in fact not about Paige, he did write a song about her. Introducing 'Hold Me While You Wait,' Lewis reportedly explained that it's about being dumped by his ex-girlfriend, "and then she ends up going on Love Island."
However, Lewis followed this revelation by saying, "For the record, I hope my ex-girlfriend wins Love Island. Not bitter."
We love that these two are still on good terms!
