Golf instructor Paige Spiranac is known for the casual, laid-back outfits she wears on the green, from mini skirts and crop tops to dresses and athleisure sets. And in an Instagram post on Wednesday, the 30-year-old media personality joked that her preferred attire actually improves her golf game.
“It’s scientifically proven that you’ll hit it farther if you wear spandex,” she wrote in her Jan. 31 caption. “I don’t make the rules.”
In the reel, Spiranac donned a black-and-white athleisure set, including a bra top with white piping and a pair of high-waisted black leggings. She wore white tennis shoes on her feet, while her blonde locks were held back in a perky ponytail. The former Division I athlete stepped up to the tee at an indoor X-Golf simulator before hitting the ball approximately 282 yards.
Plenty of Spiranac’s 3.9 million followers on the platform chimed in to the comments section with playful remarks regarding the claim in her caption.
“I’d have the whole course to myself if I wore spandex,” one person quipped.
“That’s what I told the guy in the pro shop but he told me no,” someone else joked.
“I tried that… they laughed me out of the simulator!!!” another fan stated in jest.
“At least you proved that their experiment was right,” one user complimented.
“Smashing, in all senses of the word!” someone else applauded.
The one-time SI Swimsuit model has been a brand ambassador for X-Golf since 2020.
