Paddy McGuinness 'soul-searching' about his future as ex Christine moves on with new love
Paddy McGuinness is about to return to our screens for his brand-new series ‘Road Tripping’ and confesses the show has led to ‘soul-searching’ two years after his split from his wife, Christine McGuinness.
During the show, Paddy will be travelling across Europe in a campervan with Top Gear co-star Chris Harris as they try new ways to combat ageing all in the hope of finding the secret to growing old gracefully. Talking about the three-part series, Paddy revealed: “There are some moments where we both really do some soul searching and think about how we can make the most of the years ahead of us.”
Paddy and Christine announced they would be getting divorced in 2022, after 11 years of marriage - and it seems Christine has moved on. In June of this year, the mother-of-three confessed that she had started dating someone and was the “happiest she’d ever been”.

Christine revealed: “I met them on my birthday through mutual friends and we’ve been dating since June. It’s someone I know. I wasn’t thinking anything at the time but we kept in touch and it’s so nice and laid back.”
Christine previously opened up to the ITV Loose Women panel. She told them: “After having a relationship in the public eye for so long I’m not sure I want the relationship to be public. I’ve only ever known what it was like to have a relationship that’s in the public. This is nice.
“I’ve been really open and honest from the beginning about where I’m at and they’re ok with that. I feel like I’m in good company. I don’t get a lot of time to myself but when I do it’s lovely and we laugh loads.”
Talking more about the series that will begin on Sunday night (29 September), Paddy explained: “We’re at a point in our lives where we want to make the most of our years ahead, so we try out as many experiences as we can to learn how some of the oldest and well-preserved people on the planet are doing it!”
The show will be shown on BBC, and marks the first time Paddy and Chris will share a screen since the Top Gear crash in 2022 that left their third co-star, Freddie Flintoff, very badly injured.
The enthusiastic duo set off in search of the answers to maintaining their youth and, over the course of the series, they visit Sweden, Greece and Switzerland. While some might back away from the bizarre anti-ageing methods, Paddy and Chris take them in their stride.
“We’ve really tried to tap into both the traditional and modern methods of ‘living well’ that are adopted by each of the countries we visited,” says Paddy. “From Swedish saunas, to milking goats, rock climbing and even visiting a ‘Gentleman’s clinic’… you name it, we try it!”
