Another Paddington film has been confirmed - 2021 is looking up!

The much-loved tale of Paddington Bear, the marmalade-loving bear from darkest Peru, will return to screens in the near future. There may be a bit of a wait for the movie (as these things take time!) but the good news is, it's very much going ahead.

With rumours of a third Paddington in the works circulating for several years, film company StudioCanal have confirmed it's going ahead. "We can confirm StudioCanal is working very hard on film 3 with the utmost craft and care — as with film 1 and 2," said a statement to Variety.

Hugh Bonneville, who plays the hapless Mr Brown in the films, gave a huge hint of the news earlier this month in a radio interview. He said there was "forward momentum" on the film and that the sequel was "somewhere on the horizon."

The two Paddington films were released in 2014 and 2017 to huge success. But who will be in the returning cast? We're hoping Ben Whishaw will be back as Paddington for sure, and all the Brown family - and of a scene-stealing villain as good as Hugh Grant was in Paddington 2.

Earlier this year, Hugh Grant joked that his friend and ex Elizabeth Hurley might appear in a sequel after she became obsessed with marmalade making in lockdown.

He reposted Elizabeth's marmalade picture with the caption 'Paddington 3'. Make it happen - we need some good cheer!
