Lily-Rose Depp, always a muse to the Chanel house alongside her mom, Vanessa Paradis, was sure enough in the front row at the spring/summer 2021 show, despite Paris Fashion Week's social-distancing rules and regulations. She wasn't the only star to pop up on the final day of the month filled with runway events and presentations, some virtual and some physical.
Lily-Rose decided on a tweed ensemble for the occasion, but it was a far cry from the sophisticated skirt-suit sets Coco herself made famous. This look came with a pink cardigan, worn open to reveal an embellished bralette speckled with sequins and satin pleats, and high-waisted jeans with the same pink tweed lining on the pockets, belt loops, and pant legs. Lily wore a Chanel chain-link belt around her waist to draw attention to her midsection even more, and capped off the accessories with a pink leather pouch, metallic slingbacks, and delicate gold jewelry.
Lily's look definitely speaks to the evolution of the Chanel brand and its partnerships with younger ambassadors such as herself and Willow Smith. In fact, at 21, Lily-Rose makes a midriff-baring Chanel outfit look as elevated as a couture dress on the red carpet worn by the likes of Penélope Cruz or Julianne Moore. Even though we don't all have the honor of being dressed head-to-toe in Chanel by Virginie Viard, I'm recreating Lily's outfit for fall using a few vintage pieces I've tracked down, along with some more affordable accessories after the jump.
