Outer Banks season two might have ended with John B and Sarah Cameron more in love than ever (albeit stranded on a deserted island), but the pair have reportedly called time on their relationship off-screen.

Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline met on set of the first series, which was filmed in 2019, although they didn't make their relationship Instagram official until June 2020. Announcing their romance, the 29-year-old actor took to his Instagram to share a series of photos, captioned: "cats outta the bag ❤️."

Although it's unclear exactly when they started dating, according to a source who spoke to People, "Madelyn and Chase are no longer together." The insider continued: "They were trying to work things out privately but broke up a couple of months ago."

Separately, another source confirmed that the pair had "definitely broken up."

Whether the pair's breakup will affect Outer Banks series three, remains to be seen. But, given how profesh they were able to keep things during seasons one and two, we reckon they'll pull it out of the bag. Speaking about what it was like to work on-screen with his off-screen girlfriend, earlier this year Chase told People: "It's been a lot of fun to drive together to work, come home and throw ideas off of each other about different scenes, collaborating, watching her get excited about her work and be her cheerleader."

He continued, "The beautiful thing for us is that our relationship was established as friends and coworkers prior to what we have now. The biggest difference now is I get to be even more proud of her as my partner when I watch her work... I'm in the background, kind of like a stage mom, watching her absolutely crush it and going, 'That was awesome!'"

RIP Chadelyn.
