Lauren Laverne is the cover star of our June issue and while we talked motherhood, marriage and turning 40 we also picked her brain on what she’s listening to right now.

The host of iconic radio show Desert Island Discs admits the podcast she’s obsessed with is Malcom Gladwell’s ‘Broken Record’.

“It’s a fantastic music podcast” the radio DJ says.

The podcast is based on the idea of liner notes (the accompanying backstory or explanation of the inspiration behind an album that used to come with vinyl records and CDs) and bringing them back. Understanding how and why a album was created and what the inspiration and purpose behind it was is a huge thing for music lovers.

Broken Record is a show that tries to restart that conversation for a world without liner notes. It's a long-form podcast that tells stories for a new audience of music lovers.

The podcast is a collaboration between producer Rick Rubin, former New York Times editor Bruce Headlam and writer Malcom Gladwell.

Well, if it's good enough for Lauren!
