The one-ingredient hack to make windows 'streak free' in 15 seconds
Cleaning windows might not be everyone's favourite chore, often requiring time and several cleaning products to get it done. But, one TikTok user has revealed a magic tip for sparkly, streak-free panes - and it's easier than you may think. Using a staple kitchen item washing up liquid, the whizzes at The Clean Up Company explained that that's all you needed to get your windows looking fresh and clean.
They shared their wonder hack in a video snippet, saying: "Oh my god, this is the best cleaning hack ever. So to clean windows, you don't need no window cleaner, all you need is Fairy Liquid (washing up liquid) - it's literally incredible." They demonstrated the method with before-and-after footage on some slightly marked windows, showing them wiping with a soaped-up microfibre cloth.
The glorious end result came after buffing away the washing-up liquid with a dry cloth to achieve those "brilliant" shiny windows. "It's absolutely incredible. I won't ever use standard window cleaner again because this just works. Streak-free. Look how fast it works," they said.

Fans of the hack also chimed in with their own success stories in the comments. "I've been doing this for 40 years," wrote one, reports the Express. "Same, always cleaned windows this way," another added.
For an extra pro tip, one TikTok user commented: "I use washing up liquid but use a spray bottle diluted with water so you get less streaks." Another explained that the hack had allowed them to reduce the time they spent cleaning windows. "This works like magic and it takes me less than 15 seconds to do my bedroom windows," they commented.
And another hasn't looked back. "This is how I always do my windows, haven't bought window cleaner in over 10 years," they wrote. Someone even revealed a window cleaner's secret, saying: "Window cleaners use washing up liquid most of the time. That's what I did when I was a window cleaner."
Not only does this trick leave windows sparkling, but it also reportedly tackles a common cold-weather nuisance - condensation. "Brilliant for keeping condensation away as well," said one viewer. "Stops condensation as well. Try it on your car windscreen too," another commented. As did another, writing: "You should do this when condensation is on the windows. It works wonders."
The cleaning enthusiast also mentioned that this nifty hack isn't just for windows it's great for shower screens, mirrors, and glossy tiles too.
