One Direction officially turned 10 years old today, and of course their anniversary has been met with a huge response from fans. While, yes, they've had their ups and downs, they've also had some pretty hilarious moments.
So to commemorate a decade since Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan formed a band on the X Factor, what better way to celebrate than looking back at their 10 best moments over the past 10 years? Don't say we don't ever treat you.
1.Their Carpool Karaoke performance
Perhaps the only positive to come from Zayn leaving One Direction was the fact that the four of them were now the perfect size to fit in the passenger seats of James Corden's karaoke SUV for The Late Late Show. Cue arguably the best of all the Carpool Karaokes, challenged only by Harry's solo appearance in the shotgun seat.
2. When they were pranked into delivering a baby
OK, this one's an oldie but a goodie. Way back in 2012, Niall, Liam and Harry headed onto what they thought was the set of a Nickelodeon interview, only to be met by an interviewer seemingly going into labour. Louis and Zayn were in on the joke, and to his credit, Harry was very helpful when it came to the unexpected "birth". Liam and Niall, not so much, but we'll let them off.
3. Their epic dodgeball game with James Corden
We can always rely on James Corden to deliver the goods, and he for sure did just that when he roped One Direction in for a dodgeball game to end dodgeball games. You won't catch us anywhere near a dodgeball court since leaving school, but this is one game we might have actually showed up for.
4. Their Best Song Ever music video
1D have made a lot of epic music videos over the years, so it's hard to choose just one favourite. But the 'Best Song Ever' vid is probably the most impressive feat of acting/prosthetics we've seen literally ever. Each character is one point, but Zayn's female receptionist absolutely steals the show. Reckon we'll ever see the other guys follow in Harry's footsteps and hit the silver screen?
5. When Harry was late to receive their Brit Award
Winning the Global Success Award at the 2014 Brits, Liam, Louis, Zayn and Niall were quick to whizz up to the stage before realising that Harry was in fact MIA. When he finally came sprinting up to the stage, he claimed to be "in the toilet" but fans have since speculated on what was actually going down in said loo...
6. When Zayn was so afraid to dance he literally disappeared
Disappearing seems to be a theme here and yes, this clip was technically pre the formation of One Direction. Back in the days of X Factor bootcamp, the 1D boys were tasked with the challenge of showing off their best dance moves, and the drama of Zayn going "missing" is still iconic to this day. Who would've thought he'd go so far back then? Also, if you want an extra laugh, look out for Harry and Liam in the background... Safe to say there's a reason they're not pro dancers.
7. Their 'That Moment' perfume shoot
While dancing has never been a particular strong point for 1D, neither has modelling, but you can't blame them for giving it a go. Promo-ing one of their many perfumes, 'That Moment', Liam, Louis, Niall, Zayn and Harry were put through their paces by their eccentric 'Fragrance Photographer' Girolle. Probs best to stick to the singing, though.
8. Their SNL dance sketch
Appearing in the 'Girlfriends Talk Show' sketch on Saturday Night Live, alongside Amy Adams, Cecily Strong and Aidy Bryant, 1D starred as a dance troupe, rocking their best matching tracksuits and their not-quite-as-great dance moves. Well, it's the taking part that counts, right?
9. 1D Day
Perhaps the most impressive feat of any boyband, like, ever, 1D Day was a seven-hour-long livestream back in 2013 promoting the band's album Midnight Memory. Non-stop for the whole 420 minutes, the show saw live performances, games and even an appearance from Cindy Crawford who walked the catwalk with Liam and Harry. Talk about stamina, though.
10. Their final performance as a group
OK, this one's less funny as it actually makes us shed a small tear, but 1D's farewell performance on the X Factor back in 2015 is one of the last times we saw them together as a foursome. They did promise a "hiatus" rather than a full-on breakup, but alas, the reunion day has never arrived. We can but hope, right?
