Olly Murs' 'heartbreak' over baby Madison: 'He was absolutely in bits'

It's only been a week since Olly Murs welcomed baby girl Madison into the world with his wife Amelia Tank, and the new parents are clearly doting on the bundle of joy. However, the singer has been left 'heartbroken' after having to return to work immediately to tour with Take That, leaving his family behind.

Olly is currently supporting the band on their This Life on Tour, and while he was present for the birth of his little girl, he had to quickly return to the stage. Now, a source has told us that the tour demands have left Olly, 39, feeling the strain while Amelia, 31, stays home with Madison.

"Olly was absolutely in bits leaving Madison so quickly. He was absolutely over the moon when Amelia gave birth and is smitten, so it's breaking his heart to leave them both. He's managed to squeeze in loads of quality time and cuddles, he just absolutely adores this baby and doesn't want to leave," said the source.

Olly and Amelia, who have been together for almost five years and married in July 2023, announced the news that they had become parents with a sweet picture of them leaving the hospital with Madison. "Our mini murs has arrived. Madison we love you so much already x," wrote the couple while sharing the snap to Instagram.

The singer's wife has been keeping fans up to date on Madison's first month through social media, and has admitted that she's missing Olly just as much.

As Olly took to the stage to perform on Friday for the first time since becoming a dad, Amelia shared a clip of him performing to Instagram, writing: "I've just been sat feeding our baby Madi and then we see this post. She doesn't even know she's got a super Daddy yet. We are both missing you very much but so proud of you @ollymurs."

Olly was left moved by the post, which he shared on his story along with a crying face emoji.

And as he got to work, Olly couldn't begin the show without mentioning his little one, telling the crowd: "What's so amazing about tonight - it's my first show as a daddy! I'm gonna try and not get emotional. Little Madison is doing really well. She's at home with my lovely wife and it's a real honour to be here."

Thanking fans for their support, the former The Voice judge added: "I wasn't going to leave you guys hanging tonight. I was gonna make sure I came and do the gig, and then I'll rush home to see the baby tonight."

Despite the bad timing, Olly is happy to be back on stage and has been embracing the Take That tour, which boasts a whopping 31 dates and sees Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen performing hits from their 2023 album.

Sharing that the tour is such a good opportunity for Olly, the source continued: "Olly's had a tough time in the past and he's glad to be back at work, the timing is just really tough. He can't not do the tour, it's a great opportunity and he has to work.

"He will enjoy it but his heart's breaking at the same time. Amelia gets it and is so supportive, she knows that he needs to be out working."

Olly is set to tour with the band until June 22, where they will finish off the near-three month run with a show in Belfast's Ormeau Park, and then the singer can enjoy the summer as a family of three.
