British actress Olivia Williams is reportedly set to take on the role of Camilla Parker-Bowles in seasons five and six of The Crown. If the rumours are true, the actress will be taking over from Emerald Fennell, who played the royal in seasons three and four.

Netflix is yet to confirm the news, however the Radio Times is reporting that Williams has been offered the role after taking part in a chemistry test with Dominic West, who is reportedly playing Prince Charles in the new season.

Williams is best known for her roles in The Father, An Education and Rushmore.

Seasons five and six of The Crown will be the final two of the Netflix hit, and will see an entirely new cast take on the famous royal characters, something which also happened after season two.

Season five will see Elizabeth Debecki play Princess Diana, taking over from Emma Corrin's Golden Globe-winning performance as the star, while Imelda Staunton will be taking the reigns from Olivia Colman to play Queen Elizabeth.

How exactly the timeline of season five and six will be split has yet to be confirmed, but it is likely to feature Prince Charles and Princess Diana's decision to divorce in 1996, as well as the events surrounding Diana's tragic death aged 36 in a car crash in Paris in 1997. Other historical events likely to be included are President Nelson Mandela's state visit to the UK, and Tony Blair coming into power in 1997.
