ICYMI, Monday was the 2023 Met Gala — aka fashion’s biggest night of the year. This year, the theme for the annual party was “in honor of Karl” to celebrate the opening of the Costume Institute’s exhibit “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” The late designer was known for his work as the creative director of Chanel, as well as his work with Fendi and Chloé.
Red carpet looks ranged from actual vintage Chanel dresses to plenty of black-and-white looks (a Karl signature), like Olivia Rodrigo‘s ‘fit. Although it’s her sleek hair look and baby bangs (!!!) that made her look one of the best of the evening.
“For this year’s Met Gala, we wanted to keep it classic,” explained Clayton Hawkins, who styled Olivia’s hair. “As a nod to Karl Lagerfeld and Old Hollywood, we went with a sleek bun with bangs in front.”
If you (like us) are major fans of Olivia Rodrigo’s Met Gala look, Hawkins shared with us the exact routine and hair products he used on our Gen Z queen. The best part? You can find them all on Amazon or at your nearest drugstore for way less than you would think.
