Olivia Munn thanks John Mulaney and speaks out on 'snapback' pressure on first Mother's Day as a mom: 'Bulls*** and unreal'

It's Olivia Munn's first Mother's Day as a mom — and she's celebrating it with fried chicken and some strong words.

On Sunday, the actress, 41, shared a series of photos of herself digging into fried chicken and biscuits — her Mother's Day gift from boyfriend John Mulaney, 39, with whom she shares 5-month-old son Malcolm Hiệp.

"Thank you to @johnmulaney for knowing that all I wanted for Mother’s Day was a bucket of chicken, a box of biscuits and for him to take over all nap duties today," the Newsroom actress wrote in her post, which included baby monitor footage of Mulaney tending to their son and covering the infant in kisses.

Munn also took the opportunity to reflect on the challenges new moms face, from mental health strains to society's expectations about "bouncing back" after baby.

"Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there, but especially to the moms who are struggling with postpartum depression/anxiety, still wearing their maternity clothes because you’ve realized that the snapback is bull**** and so unreal and feel insecure as they scroll through Insta today realizing they don’t have the energy, creativity or brain power to post a beautiful pic of motherhood," wrote Munn, who wears an oversized button-down top and shorts in her photos.

Munn has been open about her own postpartum experience, from dealing with anxiety to feeling "like my body was failing" due to a low milk supply that made breastfeeding difficult. Last month she also poked fun at "snapback" culture by sharing a shot of herself in Mulaney's flannel shirt and pants.
