Old trainers gathering dust? You can now donate them to SportsShoes.com

How full is your running shoe cupboard? If it's at levels where you’re finding it hard to close the door, it might be time to think about clearing some of your old, worn-out running shoes.

But how do you do it without them ending up in landfill? SportsShoes.com has the answer. The online sportswear retailer has teamed up with shoe recycling initiative JogOn and parcel delivery company Evri to provide a service where you can donate your old sports shoes directly to them, where they will be kept out of landfill and in use.

For a fee of £2, you can send up to six pairs of old trainers to JogOn. Once it receives the shoes, the company will distribute them in support of charities, NGOs and micro-economies at 15 worldwide destinations.

JogOn has set itself the target of keeping one million pairs of sports shoes out of landfill annually. Earlier this year, SportsShoes.com announced its intention to become the world’s most sustainable running equipment retailer by 2025. Its sustainability strategy is called ‘Leave No Footprints’, and it also aims to become carbon net-zero in the future.
