“Oh my god, no, it’s not true”: Priyanka Chopra and the royal feud
Not seen your best mate for a couple of weeks? Not worried, right? Busy schedules, growing families and social engagements can all mean that even the closest friends don’t manage to make it to each other’s landmark moments.
But if the two friends happen to be a pregnant royal and a famous actress, then apparently all bets are off. That’s why Priyanka Chopra has found herself having to deny that she is feuding with famous friend Meghan Markle aka the Duchess of Sussex.
Stories have been running about the cracks in the friendship for a while, but Chopra found herself having to talk about the subject – if only briefly – on US telly this week. While on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, a viewer popped the question everyone was asking – is Chopra feuding with her royal friend. She simply smiled and said, “Oh my god, no, it’s not true.”
The two became pals, back when Markle was a TV star herself, but times have changed for the leading ladies. Markle has married her prince and is now weeks away from having her first child, while Chopra has also wed pop superstar Nick Jonas.
And this is where the rumours have started to swirl, as each lady has missed a significant social event in the other’s life. First it was Chopra’s opulent wedding in India just before Christmas, when the Duchess was nowhere to be seen. Then followed Chopra’s absence from the royal babyshower in New York.

Now US gossip site Page Six is circulating stories that the friendship is in trouble, claiming that Markle refused to attend Chopra’s wedding, which in turn led to Chopra bowing out of the babyshower.
An anonymous source added: “Their friendship is over unless Meghan apologises.”
The fact that the Duchess was five months pregnant in December seems to have been forgotten. E! ran its own story with more anonymous quotes – although at least this time they were on the side of the friendship.
“All the rumours that Priyanka and Meghan aren’t friends anymore are totally not true. Priyanka and Meghan are still very close friends and they talk frequently. Meghan confides in Priyanka about the adjustments she has to make with being a royal.”
Hopefully the birth of the new royal will stop the gossip or at least change the story.
