Adele fans have been going wild recently over speculation that her much-anticipated fourth album is about to drop any day now. After mysterious billboards started popping up around the world, fans took to Twitter to share their theories. And now, it seems, even Adele herself has confirmed her return, announcing her new comeback single "Easy on Me" on Instagram earlier today.

Billboards with the number "30" on them have been spotted in recent weeks, in cities including Dubai, London, New York and Toronto. As we all know, Adele's previous albums have been titled "19", "21" and "25" – representing the age she was when she started working on them. And, given that the singer is currently 33-years-old, it wouldn't be out of the question that her next album is titled "30."

Well, while we were all busy theorising Adele was busy working on her new comeback single "Easy on Me," which she announced in an Instagram post on Tuesday (5 October), and which is set to be released on 15 October.

The post, which racked up almost 4.5m views in an hour seems to confirm what we were all hoping - that a new album is on its way.

With all the buzz surrounding the singer over the last few weeks fans were even more convinced than ever that new music was coming, especially after the singer's own social media accounts were updated. Her profile pictures on both Instagram and Twitter now match the exact same colour of the billboards in question, and her website had been overhauled with the colour scheme too.

The singer also shared her first tweet since January. Responding to a message from the official Twitter account, she wrote: 'Hiya babes!'

It's officially time to get excited.
