The O.C.'s Mischa Barton and Rachel Bilson are kind of feuding, which is sad

Things are getting a bit tense between The O.C. stars Mischa Barton and Rachel Bilson, after Rachel responded to some comments Mischa made in a recent interview about why she quit the show back in 2006.

It all started last month when Mischa, who played Marissa Cooper on the hit show, spoke about her departure from the series at the end of series three, explaining that she felt "unprotected" from the fame that she suddenly found from the show and that there things "people did wrong" and didn't handle well.

"It’s a bit complicated," she told E! News. "It started pretty early on because it had a lot to do with them adding Rachel [Bilson] in last minute as - after the first season - a series regular and evening out everybody's pay—and sort of general bullying from some of the men on set that kind of felt really s**tty. "

Now, Rachel Bilson (aka Summer Roberts) has responded, calling part of her former costar's claims "misinformation" but also adding that she wants to hear more from Mischa's perspective.

As she and her O.C. co-star Melinda Clarke (Julie Cooper) explained on the Welcome to The O.C., Bitches podcast, they had actually released this segment of the podcast early, "in hopes Mischa would hear us talk about it and would be willing to come join us on the show so we could hear her entire perspective and what she is saying that she experienced."

Rachel then adds, "In one of her first comments she said that I was added last minute after the first season, which is actually completely false and not what happened. So it's starting out that way, I was like, 'Well, that’s misinformation. Where is she going with this and what is she trying to say?' I would actually like to talk to her and find out what her experience was from her perspective. I saw things a little differently, I guess."

Melinda follows up by saying, "It kind of breaks my heart a little to know — we knew there was a lot of pressure on her — but if it was really that bad of an experience, that's not right for any young person," she said. "But some of the comments were very perplexing to me, so I don’t know what the truth is about that. I do know that, yes, this was an enormous amount of pressure."

Mischa has yet to respond to these recent comments, but we're crossing our fingers that they'll work it out eventually. It's Marissa and Summer, after all!
