If you’re still not one of the many millions of people who have watched Squid Game, what have you been doing with your life?!
But if you have given the Netflix show a viewing, you’ll no doubt still be obsessing over the Dalgona Candy challenge from the third episode.
It shows the surviving contestants being given a round tin. Once the tin is opened, a popular South Korean sweet is revealed: Dalgona Candy.
Each piece of Dalgona Candy – which is made simply from sugar and baking soda – has a picture carved into it, which the contestant must carefully carve around without the candy snapping, which is wayyyyyyyyy harder than it looks. Fail and you die.
Knowing how obsessed the world (and TikTok in particular) is with this challenge, a restaurant has come up with Squid Game inspired pancakes.
Kcal Kitchen in Glasgow has a Dalgona Candy stack of pancakes on its menu, that if you manage to beat, gets you the pancakes for free. And we all know the best pancakes are free pancakes.
Sharing the challenge on its Instagram, Kcal Kitchen says, “Introducing the @netflix phenomenon! 🤤 Protein pancake stack topped with honeycomb, Lotus Biscoff sauce, cream & SQUID GAME candy! THE CHALLENGE > Using your knife ONLY! Break the shape perfectly in the candy to win the pancake stack for completely FREE. Can you handle the pressure?”
Race you to Kcal Kitchen…
