Commemorative stamps aren't the only way Prince Charles' 70th birthday is being celebrated this week.

To mark the milestone on 14 November, Google has partnered with Clarence House and 10 of the prince's charities to launch a new initiative that documents his life through rarely seen family photographs and pieces from his own art collection.

Through the online project, visitors can also use Google Street view imagery to peek inside Charles' homes for the first time. These include the halls of Clarence House, Charles and Camilla's London residence, and the gardens at Highgrove, his private home in Gloucestershire.

A tour of Dumfries House in Scotland also includes views of its priceless collection of Chippendale furniture and personal insights from the on-site curators.

Highlighting Charles' life-long love of art, more than 40 artworks can also be viewed, including three of the Prince's own watercolours, a portrait Queen Elizabeth II as a young girl and eight masterpieces documenting Windsor Castle.

The collaboration with Google comes just a week after the a new TV documentary was released about the royal by the BBC. With multiple celebrations being thrown in his honour, including a reported Buckingham Palace dinner hosted by the Queen on Wednesday night, Charles' 70th is set to be a memorable occasion.
