Aldi Has Launched Two Gins Based On This Year's Ring Of Fire Solar Eclipse

·3-min read

Summer is coming – we can feel it in our waters. And with the year we’ve had, boy do we deserve one hell of a summer.

We have to admit that now we're able to meet up with loved ones, we feel like we're constantly thinking about what we want to drink on such occasions. We can’t help it, okay – we love a tipple.

Luckily Aldi has stepped up with a selection of exciting new gins, which should do nicely.

First up, there are two new gins, which have been inspired by this year's ring of fire solar eclipse: Elements by Haysmith’s Solar Gin and Elements by Haysmith’s Eclipse Gin.

The Solar gin has been crafted especially for those that believe gin should be enjoyed during the light of day. Aldi’s Solar gin is made using botanicals, including juniper grapefruit peel, rose petals and lavender. These make this gin sweet and punchy.

While Aldi's Eclipse gin combines juniper and schezwan pepper, to take tasters on a journey through a Summer Solstice evening. This gin has a peppery taste and a dry finish.

You can pick up both of these gins from Aldi stores for £14.99 a bottle.

Aldi has also recently launched a pineapple and raspberry gin that would make the best cocktails. The Kirkcaldy-based Lundin Distilling’s Pineapple and Raspberry Crush Gin (£19.99), is described as being "a wonderfully easy-drinking gin with flavours of tangy pineapple and a splash of juniper and citrus."

And after being selected as part of Aldi’s Next Top Product search, Bothy Trading’s new Hipflask Sloe Bramble Gin Liqueur (£9.99) is also coming to an Aldi near you. It's handcrafted in the Angus Glens and made using fresh Scottish fruit. It really is the perfect accompaniment to a summer dessert.

We were recently treated to this decadent Glitter Globe Peach & Elderflower Gin Liqueur! It's got 23-carat gold leaf in the bottle. You know you'll feel like a baller pouring it...

As well as this, Aldi has also launched not one, but TWO new flavours of its iconic Greyson's Gin.

Yup, Aldi gin now comes in two summer-inspired flavours: Mediterranean Orange and Sicilian Lemon.

Did anyone else’s side of their mouth just prickle at the thought of a Sicilian lemon gin and tonic? Because mine sure did…

Here’s a little more info from Aldi on the new flavours:

Perfect with fresh slices of orange and a dash of tonic water, shoppers will be left peeling refreshed after just one sip!

And Greyson’s Sicilian Lemon Gin (£12.99) is also available online and in store from 15th March, for a taste of the Italian lifestyle, this elegant tipple brings bold and delicious citrus lemon notes, reminiscent of a Sicilian countryside.
