Once, sourcing vintage furniture pieces for your home meant having the time and energy to trawl auction houses, markets and even intimidating showrooms. Not any more.

Curated edits of stylish stock, from mid-century classics to gems from the 70s and 80s, can now be perused in the palm of your hand thanks to a new generation of Instagram dealers. We’ve rounded up our 11 favourite accounts to follow for finding choice pieces.

This gallery-cum-photography studio is the brainchild of Sophie Pearce. Hugely influential in the collecting scene, whatever her impeccable eye singles out – be it furniture, lighting or artworks – inevitably becomes highly sought after. @betonbrutlondon

Taking its name from an Old English word meaning ‘pleasant on the eye’, Eesome lives up to its promise. It’s a curated online secondhand store specialising in vintage and antique pottery and ceramics – expect gloriously wonky pots, one-off dishes and other unique vessels in a tantalising array of glazes and textures. @eesomeshop

This east London dealer has items available to rent as well as buy. There’s a spectrum of styles here, from glamorous Italian leather lounge chairs and coffee tables to rustic three-legged side tables, plus ceramics, artworks and lighting. @the.peanut.vendor

The go-to for original Ercol pieces in immaculate condition, Norfolk Retro drops fresh stock via Instagram Stories every few weeks. There’s also a great selection of Lloyd Loom, rattan furniture and accessories, plus ceramics and other mid-century finds. Keep an eye on the feed for pop-ups in and around Norwich. @norfolkretro

Those partial to postmodernist design will find plenty of swoon-worthy and statement pieces at Dudley Waltzer. You’ll find specimens such as the early ‘S-chair’ by Tom Dixon and bonkers, curved chests of drawers, as well as new work by contemporary artists, such as painter Jason Tessier (pictured). The Essex-based firm offers a whole suite of services, from sourcing specific items to restoration and interior styling. @dudleywaltzer

Founder James Watkins started Push//Pull when his personal collection outgrew his home. From selling on eBay, Watkins began to source for interior designers and brands (including Soho House), before setting up in its current form - there’s also a range of in-house designed pieces. @pushpull.store

Founded by former trend forecaster Sadie Perry, Mantel is a trove of trinkets and objects curated with stylish mantel-scapes in mind. As well as one-off vintage finds, the brand collaborates with artisans for special editions of pottery and objects. @shopmantel

There’s not a hint of teak to be seen Oswald Shop’s feed. Instead, bold, bright and futuristic furniture from the 60s, 70s and beyond takes centre stage, with rare pieces from Kartell, Flos and Cassina. As the name suggests, this Bristol-based outfit has honed in on the modern era, with pieces mostly sourced from Europe. There’s a particularly strong edit of lighting, including great finds from the 50s and 60s, but you’re just as likely to pick up kitchenware, storage, seating or coffee tables. @_modern_room
