Normal People stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal have shared a reunion photograph on Instagram.

The pair starred in the Irish drama as Marianne Sheridan and Connell Waldron, two teenagers who tried to navigate their relationship during a vital time in their lives. The BBC series premiered during the first lockdown and became a major hit for people, eventually winning Mescal a BAFTA.

Edgar-Jones shared a few photos of herself enjoying some time in New York City, with one of them also featuring her Normal People co-star smiling for the camera.

'Kewl cats and kittens in NYC,' she wrote in the caption, referencing Tiger King, the other show that we were all obsessed with the during the early days of the first lockdown.

Mescal deleted his Instagram account earlier this year, despite having wracked up over 1 million followers.

The actor has been named as a potential James Bond following the departure of Daniel Craig, who's final film in the role, No Time to Die, is out now.

'I'm a huge Bond fan. I think it's an incredible franchise. But it feels very, very far away from current circumstances," he told Digital Spy last year.

Speaking more recently about a second batch of Normal People episodes, Mescal said: 'I would work with Daisy [Edgar-Jones] again in a heartbeat and regardless of working with her again, I'm just really excited to see her so we can see each other again. It would be great.

'At the moment, there's nothing at all in the pipeline so I don't want to be quoted on, 'Maybe there's going to be a [Normal People] season 2." There's nothing at the moment.'

Normal People is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
