Those obsessed with Connell's chain, look away now. A new report claims the Normal People actor Paul Mescal reportedly has a 'flirty relationship' with co-star India Mullen who plays Peggy, as fans speculate that they're dating.

While the onscreen chemistry between Paul and Daisy Edgar-Jones, who plays Marianne, is undeniable, a new report from The Sun claims he has a bit of a flirtationship going on with India, whom he lives with in London.

According to an insider, "Paul and India have a brilliant, flirty relationship, and are always laughing. They’ve grown incredibly close, and made the decision to live with each other.

"They’re incredibly supportive of one another’s careers."

Paul recently shared a photo of India, who is also from Ireland, on his Instagram with the caption, "home pals", while India has fangirled over his performance as Connell on her own account.

"I am so so proud to be part of this and madly grateful to have met the most talented and kindest bunch on the planet 🖤," she wrote with a picture of Connell and Marianne. "(@daisyedgarjones and @paul.mescal will move you to your core 😭)"

This, along with photos of the pair strolling in London together, has led fans to believe India and Paul are dating. "Do you think Peggy and Connell are a thing irl?" one person wrote, while another said, "I ship these two as a couple tbh."

But actually, judging by an interview Paul recently gave about dating, the pair are just friends. "I stopped using [apps] weeks before... because I didn't like it anyway, "he explained on I'm Grand Mam, before adding the golden words: "To be honest I'm really looking forward to dating."

The 24-year-old continued that he has been riding solo for a while now, "I'm trying not to think of it being weird because... look we've been in lockdown for months. I've had no kind of opportunity to be like meeting somebody new or being remotely intimate with anybody."

Just flirty friends, then!
