Normal People star Paul Mescal has addressed a potential season 2 and his acting future.

The Irish actor appeared at the TV BAFTAs on Sunday night (June 6), where he picked up the gong for leading actor in a TV series.

Speaking after his win, Paul revealed there are no plans "at the moment" for a second series of the hit BBC One drama.

He also revealed that he will soon be travelling abroad for an 'exciting' new film role.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other press, Paul said: "I would love to do a Normal People season 2.

"I would work with Daisy [Edgar-Jones] again in a heartbeat and regardless of working with her again, I'm just really excited to see her so we can see each other again. It would be great.

"At the moment, there's nothing at all in the pipeline so I don't want to be quoted on 'maybe there's going to be a [Normal People] season 2'. There's nothing at the moment."

He added on a future film project: "I think there's going to be hopefully an announcement, I imagine, in the next week or two. I'm going away for work. I'm really excited about it. It's a film and I really like the script.

"I've already probably said too much but I'm excited about it."
