Nobody’s Child has launched a collection of plus size summer dresses: Here’s what we’re loving

But, it seems that the fashion industry is slowly but surely waking up to and recognising plus-sized consumers, with some brands now offering trend-led pieces in a wider range of sizes.
In part, this is as a result of the body-positivity movement, which accelerated in 2012, fuelled largely by social media, with many working behind the scenes to champion curvier and more realistic representations of women.
This forced brands to take responsibility and caused a much-needed surge in plus size ranges in order to cater to a range of bodies at the likes of Asos, H&M and River Island – but more action is still needed.
As for sustainable clothing options, there’s still a long way to go, with many eco-friendly brands failing to cater for a plus-size audience or show clothing on a diverse range of bodies.

Luckily, eco-conscious brand Nobody’s Child is answering the calls for greater size inclusivity and has just launched a new range, available in sizes 18 to 24.
Reflecting the brand’s signature feminine prints and silhouettes, the 14-piece collection of mini and midi dresses are perfect for summertime socialising, and are available on the brand’s website and at Simply Be.
As always with Nobody’s Child, the dresses are affordably priced between £35 and £49 and are made from responsibly sourced fabrics, including Lenzing Ecovero, an alternative to traditional viscose made from renewable wood that generates 50 per cent fewer emissions.
