No One Understands Why Gucci Released These £1,230 Slippers Made Out Of Hair

Do you have an uncontrollable urge for your feet to look like Cousin It from The Addam’s Family, or Donald Trump’s toupee, but don’t know how?
At last - Gucci have come to the rescue with a pair of slippers made out of long, golden hair.
They first debuted on the runway at Milan Fashion Week - yes they are legit - and cost £1,230. You know, the amount we would usually spend on a pair of hairy shoes.
The shoes are made of goats’ hair, and are described on Net-a-Porter as “finished with the label’s signature gold horsebit, nestled in the floor-sweeping honey-colored strands that also line the shoe”.

The shopping website also says that the pair go best with “floaty skirts and dresses” or jeans.
But here’s the real clincher - they’ve sold out. Genuinely. And people on Twitter are just as confused as us.
One said: “How are y'all gonna charge $1800 for Trump’s toupee?”
While another wrote: “GUCCI WHAT YOU DOIN.”

One thing that Net-a-Porter’s description of the shoe has got right is that the pair are certainly “one of the most talked-about designs from Alessandro Michele’s debut runway collection”.
But are they being talked about in the right way?
