In case you missed it, Nikkie Tutorials has just announced she's launching a brand spanking new eyeshadow palette with Beauty Bay.
And you thought 2020 was all doom and gloom.
The Nikkie Tutorial x Beauty Bay palette contains 20 matte, shimmer and duo-chrome shades that represent both Nikkie's personality and makeup style.
If you're familiar with the Mmmmitchell x Beauty Bay palette, the packaging is just as cool, representing Nikkie's "crazy world", along with the "bright" and "dark" sides of her life.
Not only that, but the palette comes with two mirrors, one regular mirror and one that magnifies... genius.
"My goal was to create my dream palette," Nikkie told us in an exclusive interview. "I mean every colour combo has been done in this makeup industry, so I wouldn't ever call this palette revolutionary or anything like that, but it's truly a peek into into my world."
If you're an OG Nikkie fan, you'll know this isn't her first collaboration. Not only has she released highlighters with Ofra Cosmetics but back in 2016 she launched a palette with Too Faced.
Nikkie has spoken publicly about that experience before, claiming it almost ended her career after customers complained about the poor quality. In the Jeffree Star x Shane Dawson series, Jeffree also alleged that the collaboration made Too Faced $9 million dollars, but Nikkie only received $50,000. Too Faced has not responded to the allegations.
Nikkie explained to us how that experience made her apprehensive to do another collaboration.
"After what happened in my past, it was really hard for me to trust a brand again. But as soon as I met with the Beauty Bay team I just felt like I was surrounded with very trustworthy, genuine, good hearted people."
Beauty Bay's collaboration with Mmmmitchell was also what made her want to partner with the brand, "That totally sealed the deal for me because I loved their formula and they're other pallets but as soon as I saw the Mitchell one I was just completely floored by the packaging and like the vision. That was the moment when I knew this is my team right here," she told us.
As well as creating a palette that truly represented her world, Nikkie wanted to ensure the colour scheme was inclusive, "You've got our neutral shades and you've got your bright pops of colour. We even created a couple of magical duo-chrome shades, which I think look even better on deeper complexions."
But the most touching part of the whole palette is one particular shade, a bright red called Mikai, which is named after Nikki's brother who passed away in 2018.
"It's the brightest true red and as soon as I got the the first samples in and I swatched it and played with it I got all emotional like, he's here."
If we weren't sold already we definitely are now.
The Nikkie Tutorials x Beauty Bay palette goes on sale exclusively on Beauty Bay on 31st August, join the waiting list here.
