Nigella Lawson Brings A Whole New Meaning To Ice Cream Sandwiches With This Recipe

Nigella Lawson shared a recipe for homemade ice cream with an unusual twist.

The star said she likes to eat her ice cream as a bread sandwich and she recommended serving a scoop inside a bun.

For the ideal ice cream sandwich, Nigella said that brioche bread was the best choice and made a great “midweek treat”.

The TV chef shared a snap of the dish to her Instagram account. A tub of coffee ice cream can be seen in the background while a brioche bread roll sits front and centre, with a large scoop of ice cream between the two halves.

Nigella revealed the recipe was for her “One-Step No-Churn Coffee Ice Cream” which she described as one of her “absolute favourite ice creams, especially in brioche buns.”

The unusual treat did seem bizarre to some, with many of her 2.5 million Instagram followers leaving comments on the post.

“Go Nigella, an ice cream sandwich, you’re a total rebel,” read one comment. “Next you’ll be recommending Nutella and pasta…” said another.

While many were surprised with the concoction, Dawn French appeared delighted by the revelation. “Ice cream IN A BUN?!” she wrote. “Oh Nigella… thank you x”

Others revealed that they had tried the ice cream recipe (whether with or without the bread roll serving suggestion, we can’t be certain) and described it as “amazing” and “delicious.”

“I’ve made this loads and yes it’s absolutely delicious,” said one commenter, while another added, “I love this ice cream it’s amazing made last week.”
