Big Little Lies was intended to be a limited miniseries when it first hit screens in 2017, but now, talk has turned to a potential third season of the star-packed drama.
The show, which features a hugely impressive lineup including Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz, Shailene Woodley and Meryl Streep, aired its second season in 2019. Since then, it's seemed a third outing was hanging in the balance, with those involved suggesting it might be hard to gather the group of A-List actors together again.
That said, Nicole Kidman gave fans a glimmer of hope, saying back in late 2019:
"Reese and I just spoke literally two days ago and we were both saying it's one of the best experiences we've ever had. It's definitely not right now, but we're definitely exploring it."
Now, Nicole's given more details and fans of the programme will be excited to hear that a third series is looking significantly more likely than before.
Speaking to Marie Clare Australia, Kidman revealed the show’s writer, David E. Kelley, and Liane Moriarty, the author of the original Big Little Lies novel, have a “really good idea” for a third season.
“Reese and I talk or text once a week. She’s just moved back to Nashville and we’re really close,” she said. “We all just want to work together again.”
She added: “I texted Zoë and Laura, and they’re in. David and Liane have a really good idea for it. Watch this space."
