Nick Knowles is going on a diet.

The 59-year-old TV star gained almost four stone during lockdown, and he's now determined to lose his excess weight.

Nick - who starred on 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!' in 2018 - explained to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I’ve made a living by looking like a bag of spanners on TV. I’m 18 stone, I’m massive.

"I’m always on building sites. During lockdown I put on almost four stone. I’ve taken two stone off now and I’m getting fit again."

Nick previously confessed that he started gaining weight amid lockdown, as he stopped working out and was instead baking and eating "all the pies".

Nick has also admitted to having "a certain amount of vanity" about his on-screen appearance.

Asked whether he's vain, he said: "I am a TV presenter. I put myself in front of millions of people, so you have to have a certain amount of vanity. Previous girlfriends would say I am.

"I like to dress up, but equally I don’t care if I look like a bag of spanners. I’ve made a career out of looking rough."

Nick also previously revealed how fame has changed his love life.

He said: "It’s an interesting one. Being on TV does have its compensations, as you are more likely to start a conversation with someone.

"But by the same token, you are aware someone is only talking to you because you are on the telly. It’s not really about whether they like you or not.

"Also, people come up to you with a preconception of who you are. If you are on the telly, they think you must be a t*****, and you have to get past that."
