City Break: A Diary Of A Trip To NYC

I have flown over to New York for a few days with my husband for a city break, without the kids. Yay!

This is actually my first trip to the US believe it or not, I seem to have travelled the world several times over but always missed America. Now I’m finally here and at first I have to say the drive from JFK to Manhattan completely put me off this place.?

Luckily the second day now has me completely won over!
I?ve shopped my little socks off and eaten so much I’m sure I?ve put on weight already!

We’ve been so lucky as the weather here is actually a lot warmer than the UK right now, it reached 18 degrees if you can believe it! So warm that I haven’t even worn my fab new Zara coat, it’s literally sitting in my suitcase. So glad I brought my little leather jacket as well so that has been my saviour so far.?

We checked in to a cute little boutique hotel called the Mansfield which is right off of TImes Square and Broadway, waking distance to all the main shops. Even had the TV series Limitless filming next door which was cool to stand and watch.

Anyway back to the shopping, can I just say LOVE! So many well known brands with bigger and better stores than back home. There are department stores galore over here with Bloomingdales, SAKS 5th Avenue, Macy’s and Bergdorf Goodman amongst the biggest.?

I literally got lost in Macy’s, this store is so big it has two sides so its very easy to spend hours in there trying to find just what you’re NOT looking for.?

As it?s christmas don’t forget to check out the department and designer store window displays?..some of the best I?ve seen!?The sales are also amazing, many of the stores currently have 25-50% off so its way cheaper than the UK and well worth checking out.?

I found some fab new brands like Ann Taylor which is similar to Zara but better quality and has some beautiful pieces. I picked up some gorge knitwear here, which is bang on trend right now. It’s now one of my new favourite places to shop!?
