After making its debut on Netflix this week, The Perfect Couple is already stirring conversations with its mixed reviews. The show's got everyone talking about its 'bingeability', and some viewers are already labeling it a murder-mystery you can't help but devour in one go they're even calling it 'trash TV at its finest', a term of endearment in the streaming world.

Slotting right into the 'guilty pleasure' category alongside other Netflix favourites such as Emily in Paris and White Lotus, The Perfect Couple showcases a star-studded ensemble including Nicole Kidman and Dakota Fanning, with Irish talents Eve Hewson and Jack Reynor adding to the mix.

The series springs from Elin Hilderbrand's popular novel and centres on a super-rich family from Cape Cod embroiled in drama as they gear up for a wedding until disaster hits. Critics have given their initial thoughts, with ratings like Rotten Tomatoes' 69% contrasting more favourable views from regular binge-watchers.

One viewer couldn't resist sharing her thoughts, exclaiming: "Watched it all in one sitting! So good," reports the Irish Star. Another book-lover turned series fan, said: "I loved the book, so I was super excited to watch the series! It definitely did not disappoint! I binged the show in one sitting! Very entertaining!"

For those looking for more gripping content, one explained: "If like me you love Nicole Kidman in short bingeable mini-series like season 1 of "Big Little Lies" or "Nine Perfect Strangers," then I would definitely recommend this."

However, in a less than glowing review, one viewer commented on the much-hyped series saying: "This series was horrible. Not at all what it was hyped up to be. If you have 5 hours to spare maybe stare at a wall instead."

Meanwhile, another Netflix series that's got people talking is IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. Based on the longest plane hijacking in Indian history, which saw passengers held onboard for seven days, the show has left viewers "chilled".

Set in December 1999, the series follows a plane travelling from Kathmandu to Delhi with more than 175 passengers on board as it is taken over by masked hijackers. Fans have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to discuss the show, with one writing: "Watching and reliving the #IC814 saga on #Netflix. Superb story-telling takes me back to days of being glued to the TV."

Another added: "Watched all of #IC814 today. It was a remarkably well written, acted edited and directed piece. Vijay Verma was outstanding but the truth is that everyone was equally as great."
