Every once in a while a series comes along that ticks all the boxes: beautiful location, great cast and an upbeat plot, and Netflix's upcoming series looks like it'll do just that. Emily in Paris is from Darren Star, the creator of Sex and The City and tells the story of American girl Emily who moves to Paris to work for a big marketing firm.

Today, Netflix not only released the full-length trailer for the series but also a release date, and the good news is we haven't got too long to wait.

Here's everything we know about Emily in Paris...

What is Emily in Paris about?

Emily Cooper is an upbeat midwestern girl who leaves the U.S. for a job in a large marketing firm in Paris where her role is to provide the "American point of view". As you can imagine, that particular point of view doesn't go down spectacularly well, and Emily must grapple with the challenge of being the new girl, while also making friends and embarking on new and very Parisian (there's hand-kissing) relationships.

Of course, all of this happens while Emily is head-to-toe in incredible outfits as she wanders through the cobbled streets of Paris.

Who has been cast in Emily in Paris?

Lily Collins has been cast in the lead role of Emily, alongside Ashley Park (Tales of the City) and Kate Walsh (The Umbrella Academy), and French stars Samuel Arnold, Lucas Bravo and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu.

Of course, the big news is that the show comes from Darren Star, the creator of Sex and the City, and you can see the inspiration. From the street-style montages to the amazing city panoramas, it's very SATC à Paris.
