Netflix has confirmed the future of The Recruit

As big Noah Centineo fans, we loved the actor's latest release The Recruit, which dropped on Netflix in December last year. *Spoilers ahead*.

In a slightly different role for Noah, the crime series sees him starring as Owen Hendricks, a young but unprepared CIA lawyer thrown into the deep end of the spy world. When a former asset threatens to expose agency secrets, Owen finds himself embroiled in a dangerous game of international espionage. Intense.

Brand new on Netflix, the series is made up of eight episodes, with fans already calling for more. Plus, the S1 cliffhanger means we're primed for answers in a second season: what will happen next for Owen, and is Max still alive?

Here's what everything know about The Recruit season two so far.

Has The Recruit season 2 been confirmed?

Yes! Netflix confirmed last week (26th January) that The Recruit would officially be getting a second season. Wooo!

Speaking to Tudum, the creator of The Recruit, Alexi Hawley said: "I'm thrilled to dive back into the fun, funny, action-packed world of The Recruit. Seeing how invested our audience became in the show's adventurous take on the spy world and Noah's turn as Owen has been incredibly rewarding, and I can't wait to turn it all up to '11' in Season Two."

Noah Centineo also shared his excitement at the renewal of the second season saying: "I know I speak for our entire cast and executive team at eOne and Netflix when I say that we are thrilled to be returning to The Recruit for a second season. I'm looking forward to seeing what Alexi Hawley has in store for us all."

Who might star in The Recruit season 2?

Now that season two has been confirmed, we're starting to get an idea of who will be returning. First up, we can pretty much guarantee the series lead Noah Centineo to return as Owen Hendricks given his excitement for the second season.

There's also Fivel Stewart who stars as Hannah (and we're hoping for an Owen-Hannah reunion in S2), plus Angel Parker who plays Dawn.

One character we're unsure on is Max Meladze (played by Laura Haddock). The season one finale sees Max shot by Karolina, who turns out to be her daughter. We don't see enough of the aftermath to find out if Max is still alive. Still, if she dies, it's likely we'll only see Laura Haddock back in flashback form.

When might The Recruit season 2 be released?

Season two has just been announced so we've still got a while to wait before hearing about an exact release date.

Series one dropped on 16th December 2022, so we won't be expecting another season to drop for at least a year - making an early 2024 release date (or potentially December 2023) the most likely.
