Netflix's Fear Street looks so good we've cancelled plans we haven't even made yet

Netflix has just announced it will be release a trilogy of horror films this summer. The Fear Street movies will be based on the best selling book series of the same name by R.L. Stine, and will star a whole host of big names including Stranger Things' Maya Hawke and Girls' Gillian Jacobs. Speaking of Stranger Things, the Fear Street trailer has just landed, and not only is it every bit as chilling as you'd expect, but it's also giving Stranger Things meets Scream vibes. We can't wait.

Here's everything we know about the upcoming Netflix horror trilogy.

What's Fear Street going to be about?

The three films are set in the fictional town of Shadyside which has been terrorised by sinister occurrences for 300 years. Each movie follows the eerie events happening in the town over three separate time periods: 1994, 1978 and 1666.

The official Netflix synopsis reads: "In 1994, a group of teenagers discovers that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected — and that they may be the next targets. Based on R.L. Stine's best selling horror series, the trilogy follows the nightmare through Shadyside's sinister history."

Who has been cast in Fear Street?

This is pretty major cast list, featuring the likes of Stranger Things stars Maya Hawke and Sadie Sink, aka retro horror royalty.

Alongside Sadie and Maya, Fear Street also stars a number of other big names, including Gillian Jacobs (Girls, Community) and Jordana Spiro (Ozark).

When is Fear Street being released?

Each of the three instalments will land on Netflix over consecutive weeks in July. Part One: 1994 airs on July 2nd, followed by Part Two: 1978 on July 9th and Part Three: 1666 16th.
