The National Television Awards aired its 25th ceremony at the O2 Arena on Tuesday night as the stars donned their glad rags and turned out in force to see who would win the accolades.
It was David Walliams’ first time hosting the programme as he took over from Dermot O’Leary, who stepped down after ten years at the helm and he made sure to kick off the proceedings by taking a few shots at the stars.
Laurence Fox, who wasn’t at the ceremony, found himself in the line of fire as Walliams jested about his recent controversial comments.
But jokes aside, there were some emotional wins as Katie McGlynn picked up a gong for her performance in a Coronation Street cancer storyline as well as Jesy Nelson’s win for her Odd One Out documentary.
Samantha Davis, the wife of Star Wars and Harry Potter actor Warwick Davis and herself an actress, has died aged 53. Samantha co-founded the dwarfism charity Little People UK and featured in the final Harry Potter film, alongside Warwick. Warwick announced the news in a statement to the BBC, revealing she had died on 24 March.
