From Cosmopolitan

A while ago, Naomi Watts was confirmed as the lead in HBO’s upcoming Game Of Thrones prequel, Bloodmoon. The show – which has been penned by author George R. R. Martin and screenwriter Jane Goldman – is set thousands of years before the events that we’ve already witnessed onscreen, and will follow the story of early Westeros inhabitants the Children Of The Forest.

What we know so far is that Naomi’s character is a “a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret” and that the plot will be delving into how the world fell into darkness after the decline of the Age Of Heroes.

We originally thought that the GOT prequel would be called The Long Night, but The Sun is reporting that Bloodmoon is the name instead.

So here's everything we know so far...

Game Of Thrones prequel filming

Bloodmoon has started filming, according to The Sun! A source told the newspaper in May: "Thrones fans will be delighted to hear things have started with the prequel. Those working on the set in Belfast are referring to the series as Bloodmoon.

"Producers have put together a stellar cast and it will be must-watch telly for anyone who loves Game Of Thrones."

Game Of Thrones prequel storyline

So, as far as we know, Bloodmoon will follow the story of early Westeros inhabitants the Children Of The Forest.

Back in October, HBO issued a statement about the GOT prequel, saying: "Only one thing is for sure: From the horrifying secrets of Westeros' history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend - it's not the story we think we know."
