Naomi Campbell: Celebrating three decades in fashion

Naomi Campbell is turning heads more than ever before as she continues to strut and work the hell out of every single designer show she walks on. At the age of 46 Campbell remains slaying, revealing the true reason she is indeed acknowledged as a supermodel.

The beauty has graced the catwalk with the world’s biggest supermodels and fellow friends Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista, who were all recognised as the ‘Trinity’ for their time. The ‘trinity’ were the most in demand trio when it came to walking for the biggest names in the industry.

Now evidently Campbell is still one of the most requested individuals for designer shows as the melanin beauty shares the catwalk with this generation’s favoured models. This varies from Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Jourdan Dunn et al whilst still ensuring the spotlight remains on her and her powerful walk.

Before this acknowledgement as one of the most iconic supermodels, Campbell was faced with discrimination and obstacles at the beginning of her career.

Naomi Campbell was first spotted by Beth Boldt whilst window shopping in London. Ever since then, she received her first big break at the age of 16 when featured on the cover of British Elle magazine in 1986. Her career grew steadily ever since as she walked for various designers such as Versace, Mizrahi and worked with photographers from Bruce Weber to Herb Rittz.

The supermodel broke many barriers as a black woman in fashion! She became the first black woman to ever cover American Vogue, French Vogue, British Vogue since 1966 and Time magazine.

Therefore in order to celebrate her accomplishments in the fashion industry for more than three decades in the game, it is only appropriate to showcase her runway evolution from the beginning to present times. This will permit you to recognise why she is still at the top of her game and remains a figure every girl wants to be.
