What does Black beauty mean to you?

Black beauty means being comfortable in your skin, I think especially because we come in so many tones and shades and hair textures. I think it's just knowing what works for you and making sure that melanin pops!

Favourite beauty treatment?

I do love a facial. So whenever I get a chance to do, like to get a nice little facial, I've been to Facegym a couple of times and I love the Signature Scuplt with Intense Cleanse.

What’s you wash-day routine?

I use Cantu or Sheamoisture shampoo and then after the shampoo, I pop on a treatment for about 15 minutes and then rinse that off again. If I'm having my hair curly, I leave it to air dry. If I'm going in to straighten it, I put on some heat protectant and straighten.

Go-to hairdresser?

My friend, who's a hairdresser, actually does my hair. So I go to the house and she washes it, does the treatment, blow dries and straightens it. I'm in really safe hands.

Have you had any bad hair experiences?

My friend recommended a hair salon to me and the stylist said "you have a lot of split ends" and she starting cutting my hair and I didn't realise how short it was when she came to the front. I was so upset, I cried.

Body treatment you love?

I use exfoliating gloves – if you don't use them, you're not doing it right. You have to get rid of that dead skin. They leave my skin so smooth.

Your biggest beauty splurge?

I'm not a big beauty splurger but I would say MAC Ruby Woo.

Cheapest beauty obsession?

I love those £1 lipglosses from the hair shop.

Makeup mishaps?

I'm absolutely rubbish at doing my own makeup. I don't really wear makeup on a day-to-day basis, so probably when I do it. When I've tried baking before and I've done a bit too much. My undereye was snatched but when someone took a picture, I was like "oh my god". You learn your lesson.

Your makeup bag wouldn’t be the same without…
