Must Watch: The Last Lap Pass Heard Around The World, Tim Gajser vs. Jett Lawrence MXoN 2024

The 77th Motocross of Nations from Matterley Basin, UK, will go down in the record book as one of the best we have ever witnessed! It was Australia's time to shine, as they claimed their first MXoN win, but the racing in all three motos was unbelievable and will be talked about for years to come. For me, it was the best MXoN we have witnessed, maybe ever. With how close the points were ahead of the final moto and all the talent on the starting gate...it was just plain rad to watch!

The final moto was THE one, though! Young Australia's Jett Lawrence and Slovenia's veteran Tim Gajser went head to head in a 3-4 lap battle and it came down to the final corner. Two icons of the sport going at it in the final race of the day and multi-champions at that!

Jett had work to do off the start in the MXGP & Open class Race 3 from an outside gate pick and reached the leader, Gajser, with a few laps left to take the lead.

Gajser wasn't done just yet when the young Aussie got around him. He wanted to show that the MXGP riders have it in the end. He showed it by darting to the inside after the uphill triple, two corners from the finish line, and taking the line away from Lawrence to win the moto.

Tim was the MXGP overall winner on the day and led his country to 7th, while Jett took the Open class overall and Australia's first holding of the Chamberlain Trophy.
