My Mum, Your Dad 2023's stars now as series returns – from loved-up Roger and Janey to sad split

My Mum, Your Dad returned tonight for a second series! The hit ITV dating show made its debut in 2023 and proved to be an instant hit with viewers, dubbed the "middle-aged Love Island". The second series of MMYD kicked off on ITV1 on Monday night with a new set of singletons hoping for a second chance at love.

The show sees a bunch of parents, who have been nominated by their kids in the hope of finding love, date one another in a bid to find love. The contestants stay together in a huge countryside home, but are unaware their kids are watching their every move. The first series saw couples such as Roger Hawes and Janey Smith fall in love, but others weren't so lucky. Take a look at where the contestants from the first series of My Mum, Your Dad are now...

Roger & Janey

Roger and Janey are the most successful love story to come out of My Mum, Your Dad. The pair's relationship blossomed on the ITV show, and over a year later they're still loved-up!

Roger, 59, captured the hearts of the nation when he opened up about the sad loss of his beloved wife after she battled cancer. His eldest daughter Jess, 29, nominated him to appear on the dating show in a bid to help him find love again. Jess' efforts paid off, and Roger fell for Janey, 48, on MMYD. The mum-of-one appeared on the show with her son Will, 19.

Roger and Janey's romance has gone from strength to strength, with the pair regularly jetting off on holiday together and visiting one another. Their families have also met and even enjoyed a weekend away to the Cotswolds together.

Roger and Janey, who regularly appear on This Morning where they document their travels, celebrated their one-year anniversary in May. They've hinted at marriage in the future, and even potentially living together.

Speaking about their romance, Janey told OK!: "We’re always together, either at my house in West Sussex or at Roger’s in Derbyshire. Even when we’re not physically together, we’re on the phone four or five times a day. It’s a wonder we get anything done [laughs]. But it’s lovely –that’s how it should be when you first meet someone."

Roger added: "We’ll probably move in together at some point but, right now, the dynamic is working for us, especially while our family is spread across different locations."

Elliott & Sharon

Elliott and Sharon were the only other couple to leave My Mum, Your Dad in a relationship. The pair hit it off at the retreat and left hand in hand.

Elliott, who appeared on MMYD with his son Zachary, and Sharon, who was joined by daughter Tia, continued to meet up and enjoy days out together. They shared loved-up photos on Instagram, delighting fans, who were rooting for them to last.

However, reports surfaced in November claiming Elliott and Sharon had called time on their romance. Neither spoke out about the rumours at the time, and it was claimed they split because of the distance between them - Sharon is based in Sunderland while Elliott lives in Essex.

Elliott has since spoken out about their split, and previously insisted he and Sharon are still on "good terms". He exclusively told OK!: “It’s just the way things go. It just doesn't work out sometimes.”

Meanwhile, Elliott has been busy working on his podcast. The dad-of-one is the host of Fifty Shades and Grey, where he talks about dating and other things with a series of guests.

Natalie & Paul

Natalie and Paul remained together until the end of My Mum, Your Dad, but struggled to make their romance work in the real world. The pair revealed they'd parted ways once the final episode of MMYD aired, having enjoyed the summer together before ending things.

Writing on social media, Natalie and Paul announced: "Firstly just wanted to say thank you for the overwhelming support from everyone who has watched the show and how invested you have been with our journey. It was an incredible experience and one that we will be forever grateful for taking part in.

"Nat and I had an incredible experience in the retreat and loved every moment, we continued that connection over the summer and had some great times together. Unfortunately in early August we decided to call a day on the relationship. We are both still friends and wish each other the best. Thank you for your continued support and we're very thankful to @davinamccall @itv @mymumyourdaduk for all we gained from the experience."

Elsewhere, Paul looks to be single too and keeps fans up to date with his life and work on Instagram.

Monique

Monique found a connection with Martin M on My Mum, Your Dad, but she ended up questioning his true feelings following a conversation with her daughter Taiya in the final episode. Monique proceeded to end things with Martin, saying they weren't right for one another.

Following her time on the show, Monique has become an ambassador for Ourtime UK - a dating site aimed at those aged over 50. She also became a grandmother when her daughter Taiya welcomed a baby girl named Alora in September 2023.

Speaking to OK! about her experience on the show, Monique said: "I’m more confident since I’ve been on the show because I was stuck at home for a very long time with grief, so I just kind of gave up on dating because I thought 'I'm tired, I don't want to do it'. But going on the show just gave me the confidence.

"I think everybody should get out of their little comfortable box and get out there because you’ve got one life, one chance so give it a go. I thought if I can get on the show and do what I did, after not seeing the light of day for how many years, I've been single for six years. I was on my own for quite a long time."

Martin M

Martin M found himself at the centre of backlash while on MMYD due to his love triangle with Monique and Tolullah. He struggled to pick between the two women, eventually deciding on pursuing things with Monique, only for her to end their romance in the final episode.

After the show, he told fans: "#MyMumYourDadUK was an emotional rollercoaster but every day is a learning day and no matter what gets thrown at you it’s important to bounce back stronger & grow as a person. Thanks for all your messages."

The dad-of-two jetted back to his home in Ibiza after the show with his sons. He looks to still be single, but is enjoying partying in Ibiza and travelling with his sons, having jetted to Germany for the Euros.

Tolullah

Tollulah found herself embroiled in a love triangle with Martin M and Monique during her time on My Mum, Your Dad. Sadly, her romance with Martin came to an end when he decided to pursue things with Monique instead.

Tolullah threw an incredible reunion bash for her MMYD co-stars shortly after the show finished airing, and appears to have formed some good friendships on the show. She's been busy over on Instagram, where she regularly shares videos and updates with fans.

She and Martin remained friends after MMYD finished despite their romance finishing. He even hosted Tolullah in Ibiza last year, with the pair posting photos on Instagram.

Caroline

Caroline failed to find romance on My Mum, Your Dad, but she did find some friends for life thanks to the ITV show. She and Clayton enjoyed three dates on MMYD but realised they were better off as friends.

The duo have remained close ever since, with Caroline previously admitting they FaceTime "every single day". The pair have also met up regularly, having enjoyed a day out together back in May.

Sitting down with Big Brother star Simon Gross on his Instagram channel last year, Caroline said: “I had a third date with Clayton and we had an absolute ball and that date was actually a catalyst for a really great friendship. Clayton and I FaceTime literally every day.

“We got on so well. There’s nothing romantic, between me and Clayton but Clayton’s more my type, than I’m Clayton’s type.”

Martin H

Martin H touched the hearts of many viewers during his time on My Mum, Your Dad, but he failed to find lasting loved on the show. He dated Tollulah on MMYD, but things didn't work out for them.

After the show aired, Martin issued a message to viewers, thanking them for their support. He told fans his "experience has only just begun" and said he had been inundated with offers of dates.

He also added: "I am particularly touched to hear from those who have found inspiration from my journey, and feel motivated to make some positive changes in their own lives. We are on this journey together! I was just as terrified as I was excited, to be in a situation where I was confronted with my insecurities and lack of confidence."

Clayton failed to form a connection with anyone on My Mum, Your Dad, and was eventually voted to leave by the kids. He looks to still be single but continues to share regular updates on Instagram.

Clayton, who is the creative director of Congo Sales and a youth life coach, revealed in June he has a song coming out on Spotfiy soon. He also recently announced he's returning to the dating scene, telling fans: "Open to dating again and it's exciting to see who comes along?"
