Mulberry has done it again.

The designer fashion label, loved by Daisy Ridley and Cara Delevingne, has released its first ever sustainable leather bag this December: the Portobello Tote.

Mulberry prides itself in unique designs and timeless accessories, local sourcing - as all of the brand’s highly coveted bags are made in their Somerset factories - and now they are making waves in sustainable fashion too with their latest drop.

The new creation ticks all the boxes and is guaranteed to be a huge fan favourite with customers.

The design is made from heavy grain leather that is a by-product of food production, while the stitching has been made using Epic EcoVerde thread, which is a recycled polyester fibre.

The Portobello tote bag is unlined, and boasts double loop handles, so you can hold in your hand or on your forearm, as well as shoulder straps to wear across the body or over one arm - the styling options are endless.

Plus there are a variety of colours to suit everyone’s needs; from classic black shade, midnight blue, as well as lighter nordic blue, chestnut brown, as well as festive Mulberry Green, and a vibrant Tangerine Orange.

Mulberry’s inspiration behind their latest release may surprise you.

It was... wait for it... the plastic bag.

Mulberry’s Creative Director, Johnny Coca, said: “Our starting point for this family was the ultimate everyday item, the plastic bag – functional, but throwaway.

“The Portobello keeps the beautiful utility of this silhouette and elevates it into an elegant tote that is practical and, more importantly, made to last.”

What’s more Mulberry are giving 100% of their profits from every sale to the World Land Trust, which is a charity who provide permanent protection for habitats and wildlife.

The Mulberry Portobello Tote Bag will set you back £795, and can be snapped up online and in store.
