How much the Love Island 2019 contestants could now earn on Instagram
While the Love Island 2019 contestants claim to go into the villa looking for love, one of the ~minor~ side effects of their time on the show seems to be a major increase in Instagram followers. So much so, in fact, that many of them don't return to their jobs from before their time in the villa, instead continuing their careers fuelled by #ads and #spons.
According to new data from digital marketing experts, Rise at Seven, social media influencers are paid on average £0.0033 for every follower they have per post. While this might not sound like a lot, it really adds up when you're considering how many followers the Love Island contestants have - and how many sponsored posts they'll potentially be approached about.
Influencers with 30,000 - 500,000 followers can anything up to £405 per post on Instagram according to the study, while those with over 500K followers could be pocketing around £1667.67.
